RPG Character Generation Guide
The Roll Dyce character generator supports ability score generation for five tabletop RPG systems, each using its official dice method. Whether you're rolling up a D&D character, creating an investigator for Call of Cthulhu, or braving the apocalypse in MÖRK BORG, this tool handles the math so you can focus on the character.
Supported Systems
D&D 5e
Roll 4d6, drop the lowest die, six times. Drag and drop each score onto the ability of your choice. The standard method for D&D 5th Edition.
AD&D 1e/2e
Same 4d6 method with one key addition: warrior classes (Fighter, Paladin, Ranger) who roll 18 Strength gain an exceptional strength percentile (18/01 through 18/00).
OSR / B/X
Roll 3d6 for each ability score in order. The classic Old School Revival method — you get what the dice give you, and your character emerges from the rolls.
Call of Cthulhu 7e
Percentile-scale characteristics with mixed formulas. Derived statistics like Hit Points, Magic Points, Sanity, and Damage Bonus are calculated automatically from your rolls.
MÖRK BORG
Roll 3d6 for four abilities. The raw score maps to a modifier from −3 to +3 — only the modifier matters in play. Embrace the doom.
WFRP 4e
Roll 2d10+20 for each of ten characteristics in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. Results range from 22 to 40, with derived Wounds calculated from your characteristics.
